Overall, it is clear that they expect life to get worse according to most of these categories. However, they predict that communication among people will improve.
The only area in which life was expected to improve was communication among people, with 64% of young people in Europe giving this answer. However, the opinion about future food quality was almost equally divided, with 49% predicting that it would improve, whereas 51% thought that it would get worse.
By contrast, there was agreement among the young people that things would get significantly worse in the other areas. In terms of health, 42% thought that it would improve but 58% expected it to get worse. There was a similar response for water quality, with only 40% predicting that it would improve. Finally, the most pessimistic prediction was for air quality in cities, with 77% of young people in Europe expecting it to get worse.
