Report Plan:

• Paraphrase paragraph: show>compare; plan>layout; current>present
• Overview/summary paragraph: (1) there is less space for fiction books (2) a central table and a café have been added today
• Paragraph 3: the books: report changes to the fiction, non-fiction, cookery, art and hobbies sections.  Report that there is no change for the travel books and new books
• Paragraph 4: no changes to the entrance and service desk.  Addition of a table and café.

Essay Plan:

• Introduction: refer to the task question.  One factor to explain why.  Some measures are possible to create interest in famous national historical personalities
• Paragraph 2: commercial advertising is responsible.  The entertainment industry targets youngsters.  This is not new (e.g. Hollywood promoting its stars since the 1920s) but it is now more effective than before
• Paragraph 3:  solutions (1) schools organise more historical/cultural activities (give examples) (2) parents should try to encourage children to be interested in famous people from their country’s history e.g. bedtime stories
• Conclusion:  interest in pop and movie stars is promoted by the media.  Some steps can be taken to create more interest among young people in famous national historical figures.
