Report Plan:

• Paraphrase paragraph: plan>diagram; shows>illustrates; design>layout; now>the present
• Overview/summary paragraph: (1) more offices 10 years ago (2) there is now a cafe and a coffee bar
• Paragraph 3: report the changes in the west of the plan; report the changes in the middle of the plan - the cafe, coffee bar and storage areas
• Paragraph 4: report the areas unchanged in the middle and east (hall, storage, kitchen); report the changes to the offices in the east of the plan

Essay Plan:

• Introduction: refer to the task statement. There are some reasons, but more young people should be encouraged to do farming work.
• Paragraph 2: one important reason for this trend. Advances in technology – machines have replaced people in farming; the young are the first to leave the rural areas.
• Paragraph 3: young people should be encouraged to do farming (1) the new farming methods result in damage to the environment – more human labour is necessary for sustainable farming – for example, organic methods. (2) there is often no work for young people in the cities, and no sense of community to support them (3) sustainable farming gives a chance for young people to study and apply agronomy and ecology to make life better for everyone
• Conclusion: technological change explains this trend, but young people are needed on farms to produce food sustainably
