Report Plan:

• Paraphrase paragraph: give information>provide data; percentage>proportion
• Overview/summary paragraph:  (1) Africa and North America had over 50% of the world’s forests (2) the lowest percentage of timber produced was in Africa
• Paragraph 3:  report and contrast the figures for the world’s forests
• Paragraph 4:  report and contrast the figures for timber

Essay Plan:

• Introduction: refer to the task question.  My own opinion – the disadvantages outweigh the advantages
• Paragraph 2: drawbacks of shopping in city centres. (1) convenience – traffic congestion and parking problems.  Example: London – congestion charge. (2) health:  poor air quality due to car emissions.
• Paragraph 3:  out-of-town shops. (1) you must have a car – this encourages more car use – not environmentally friendly (2) choice is limited – contrast the diversity of shops in city centres
• Conclusion:  the disadvantages of more out-of-town superstores are greater than the advantages.
