Report Plan:

•Paraphrase paragraph: charts>pie charts; show>compare; percentage>proportion; male and female workers>men and women working; country A and country B>both countries.

•Overview/summary paragraph: (1) in both countries - % of male and female working in services was higher than % working in agriculture or industry (2) a higher % of men and women worked in agriculture in Country A than in Country B.

•Paragraph 3: select, report and compare figures for male and female workers in services in both countries

•Paragraph 4: select, report and compare figures for male and female workers in agriculture and industry in both countries

Essay Plan:

• Introduction: refer to the task question and key words eg. environmental damage/causes/responsible/preventing
• Paragraph 2: major causes. (1)  mineral extraction eg. Russia, USA, Middle East (2) deforestation eg. lowland tropical rainforests (3) pollution
• Paragraph 3: governments are responsible for prevention.  The oceans – international law; governments must pass and enforce laws to prevent pollution or harm to the environment.  Individuals can exert pressure on governments to act.
• Conclusion: the causes need to be tackled by governments – they have the power to prevent more environmental damage.
